This exhibition is a celebration of some of the finest creativity in Miami, Florida

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older. Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, Drawing and Collage, Artwork must be original in concept and not copied from another artist’s work.  Eligibility for entry is open to Fine Art artists in 2D (Painting, Drawing, Collage and Photography)

No installations or artwork that requires special technical installation or assembly will be accepted. Entries must be received by midnight Eastern Time October 25, 2019. 

Only entries submitted online through email ( will be considered. Entries are limited to a maximum of two artworks executed in the last three years. A maximum of one piece of artwork per artist can be juried into the exhibit. Accepted work will be exhibited at Hernán Gamboa Gallery 4000 W Flagler St, Coral Gables, FL 33134 from November 22, 2019 – January 10, 2020.

One entry fee $35 for 1 image / $55 for two entries. All fees are non-refundable and payable Rafa Montilla Art. Entry fees may be paid by credit card, Paypal, Zelle on Venmo.


Judging occurs in two phases. The initial judging will take place from October  26 – 30, 2019. During this time, the juror will select the artwork to be accepted into the exhibit. After all accepted artwork has arrived, the juror will view the exhibit in person to select the award-winning artwork. Winners will be announced at the opening reception, November 22, 2019.

Sofía Ímber, Queen of Art!

Sofía Ímber was born into a Jewish family, on May 8, 1924 in Soroca, Romania. She arrived in Venezuela in 1930, when she was a child.

She starts as a reporter in Ultimas Noticias. She also wrote for the newspapers El Nacional, El Universal, 2001 & Elite, Momento, and Kena magazines. She made collaborations for El Tiempo de Colombia, La Nacion de Argentina and El Excelsior de Mexico.

In 1944 she married Venezuelan writer Guillermo Meneses with whom she had four children. Together they created the magazine Critica, Arte y Literatura (CAL), she also happen to preside over the Association of Art Critics. They got divorced in 1978. The following year Sofía marries Carlos Rangel, a brilliant Venezuelan journalist, academic and diplomat with whom she does the television program Good Morning.

In 1973, she founded the Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas (MACC) which she directed for thirty years. This museum houses a permanent collection of around 400 works. It is considered one of the best public collections of modern and contemporary art in Latin America.

Sofía Imber received multiple national and international awards including the National Journalism Prize of Venezuela, the National Plastic Arts Prize of Venezuela and the Picasso Medal awarded by UNESCO.

Hernán Gamboa Gallery in Coral Gables, Miami, FL announces a call to artists for a Juried Visual Art Exhibition, November 22, 2019 – January 05, 2020. Awards, Prizes and Honorable Mention. Submissions are being accepted for this International, juried visual art competition and exhibition, open to two-dimensional artists, who are over the age of 18, working in painting, mixed media, photography, drawing and collage.
